Director Cho Hyun-hoon said in a statement on the 28th, "I am the writer under the pen name Joo Jin, and I am also the one who did something wrong to my colleagues in the film industry in 2013", adding, "I am very sorry to those who suffered from my mistakes; film colleagues, viewers and officials of the currently airing work".

"I don't mean to deny or hide anything that happened at the time and my mind hasn't changed", he added. "I'm still constantly reflecting on it".

Director Cho Hyun-hoon said, "I will do anything if it helps those who are hurt by me. I will not forget my mistakes and reflect deeply and live with remorse", he said.

Earlier, director Cho Hyun-hoon made his debut with "Jane" which was released in 2017, but controversy arose when he was pointed out as a sexual harassment perpetrator in 2018. At that time, Cho Hyun-hoon was revealed to have committed sexual harassment at an after-party after the closing ceremony of the Indie Forum in 2013.

Studio Dragon, which produced "Hometown", told Newsis, "The writer's name will be deleted from the credit from the third episode", adding, "It was too late when we found out that the writer had such an issue, but we will check carefully in the future to prevent this situation from happening again".

"Hometown" began its first broadcast on the 22nd as a mystery thriller drama in which a detective chasing a serial murder in 1999 and a woman wandering in search of a kidnapped nephew digs into secrets against the worst terrorist ever
