On January 2nd Lee Jong-suk made a post on Instagram stating that he had returned. Attached to the post were black-and-white photos of Lee Jong-suk in a park wearing a hat and a mask. The celebrity appeared to be enjoying his freedom on a playground following his release from mandatory service that same day.

Lee Jong-suk began his public service in March of 2019. This was an alternative to military service, which Lee Jong-suk was unable to participate him due to injuries sustained in a car crash while he was still a teenager. Purportedly Lee Jong-suk is already getting right back to work, although his first role will be a small one. Lee Jong-suk will have a special appearance in "The Witch : Part 2. The Other One" of unknown importance, as a favor to director Park Hoon-jung of "V.I.P" where Lee Jong-suk starred in 2017.
