On April 5th, actor Kwak Jin-seok was confirmed for a spot on "Queen of Tears" which is currently airing on tvN. He will be playing the role of Pyeon Seong-wook, the CEO of a mid-sized real estate corporation. It was not immediately clear why information on this appearance did not appear in previous publicity materials. Kwak Jin-seok has not yet appeared in the drama, and the press release seems to hint as to some possibly spoiler-adjacent purpose to the character.

Kwak Jin-seok will primarily appear alongside the second lead played by Park Sung-hoon, with the pair's antics likely having some further deleterious impact in the situation faced by the first lead, played by Kim Soo-hyun, as he fights a divorce with his wife, a corporate heir played by Kim Ji-won. Kwak Jin-seok is a minor actor best known for physical roles and choreography. He worked in the films "Smugglers" and "12.12: The Day" last year in this capacity.

This is not to understate his emotional range, however. Kwak Jin-seok had a strong performance in the 2020 film "Bori" has the father of the title character, a hearing a girl in an otherwise deaf family. "Queen of Tears" airs on tvN on Friday and Saturday nights. It had ratings of 16.143% in its most recent episode, the eighth, which aired on March 31st.
