[HanCinema's News] "HARD HIT" Leads Going into First Weekend at the South Korean Box Office

According to figures released by the Korean Film Council on June 26th, "HARD HIT" has had 144,173 admissions over its first three days of release. The vehicular thriller is now in a strong position going into the weekend, with its daily totals on Friday significantly outperforming those of its main competitor, a Hollywood action film. With luck, "HARD HIT" may be able to break the 300,000 viewer mark and try to make a run for the best performing South Korean film so far this year.

South Korean films have done fairly anemically at the box office this year, as the film market is still depressed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Foreign films hold the eight top places on the 2021 leaderboard, though none of these films has broken the three million viewer mark. Their superior performance to domestic competition is undeniable, however. The spy film "Mission: Possible" is currently the best performer with 447,111 admissions.
