Kim Ki-cheon posted on his social media on the 31st, "I can't stand it. I can't sleep at night and can't digest because of the incompetent, irresponsible, and shameless people".

He also wrote on the 1st of November, "Don't force condolences", and "I hope big punishments will be given to those who only make excuses and avoid responsibility". Kim Ki-cheon did not directly mention the Itaewon Disaster, but he seems to have expressed anger regarding it through the word 'condolences'.

Kim Ki-cheon, who made his debut with the movie "Seopyeonje" in 1993, made his name known by appearing in several films such as "Christmas in August", "Blood Rain", "Neighbors", and "The Wailing".

Earlier on the 29th, ahead of Halloween, more than 100,000 people flocked to Itaewon, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, causing a crush accident. According to the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters, 156 people were killed and 151 injured as of the afternoon of the 1st, with a total of 307 casualties.

The government has designated it as a national mourning period until November 5th in memory of the victims. Accordingly, broadcasting, entertainment, and performance circles postponed their dates and the release of albums, and postponed and canceled production presentations and concerts. All dramas and entertainment programs have also been cancelled or postponed.
