[HanCinema's News] "The Pirates: The Last Royal Treasure" Breaks 350,000 Viewer Mark

According to figures released by the Korean Film Council on January 30th, "The Pirates: The Last Royal Treasure" has cemented its position as the box office leader going into Lunar New Year weekend. Over four days of availability, "The Pirates: The Last Royal Treasure" has had 358,782 admissions. This compares to 193,101 cumulative admissions for "Kingmaker" which is in second place.

The numbers, while passable, are still a far cry from those put out for Lunar New Year weekend before the pandemic. "The Man Standing Next" in 2020 had over 2.6 million admissions in its first weekend. At the current rate, "The Pirates: The Last Royal Treasure" is unlikely to even reach half those numbers. "The Pirates: The Last Royal Treasure" stars Kang Ha-neul and Han Hyo-joo among others as competing buccaneers attempting to gain possession of valuable plunder.
