[HanCinema's News] Lee Hyeri Under Attack for Gloating in Wake of Han So-hee's Breakup With Ryu Jun-yeol

The abrupt announcement of Ryu Jun-yeol and Han So-hee breaking up after an equally abrupt announcement only two weeks prior of their becoming a couple was a news story that all concerned parties seemed willing to let lie. However, an Instagram post by Lee Hyeri fed fuel onto the fire of that incident earlier this week, with Han So-hee herself responding to Lee Hyeri's apparent mockery. An Instagram post by Lee Hyeri on April 2nd started the feud off.

In the post, Lee Hyeri uploads several pictures of herself with the background music being Sugarcoat by Natty. The lyrics of the song discuss. Han So-hee interpreted the lyrics as being modified by context- the "just move" not being about dancing and self-expression, but directed against Han So-hee as a form of mockery, for her to get out of the way. Lee Hyeri had previously been Ryu Jun-yeol's girlfriend for some seven years.

This interpretation of Lee Hyeri's intent quickly became the predominant one, as fans and commenters on the post in question were quite critical of the tone of the post. Lee Hyeri has since deleted the post, which had over 870,000 likes and 9,500 comments as of April 3rd. The incident was not entirely unprovoked- throughout March Lee Hyeri had been making cryptic posts for which she had been criticized by Han So-hee.

For her part, Han So-hee has also deleted posts, and appears to be in conflict with her management over the entire issue. Ryu Jun-yeol, for his part, has been entirely silent about what, if anything, has been going on between him and his two ex-girlfriends. Ryu Jun-yeol will next appear in "The 8 Show" on Netflix in the second quarter of this year. Lee Hyeri and Han So-hee's next projects are films with as yet unconfirmed release dates.
