According to figures released by the Korean Film Council, "Exhuma" had 11,569,310 cumulative admissions at the end of April 13th. Though "Exhuma" is nearing the end its theatrical run, these numbers now outpace "Train to Busan" and allow "Exhuma" to take 20th place on the all-time South Korean box office. The 2016 zombie film had 11,567,816 admissions when it left South Korean theaters.

The record is only the latest of many for the occult horror film, which is already, by far, the best performing South Korean film of 2024. However, it will face serious competition for this title from the action film "The Roundup: Punishment" later this month. Coincidentally, both "The Roundup: Punishment" and "Train to Busan" feature Ma Dong-seok as major cast. "Taegukgi" is the next possible benchmark for "Exhuma" to exceed with 11,746,135 admissions.
