According to figures released by the Korean Film Council on January 11th, "Alienoid: Return to the Future" is the most widely watched film at the South Korean box office. The comic sci-fi mashup earned 94,448 box office admissions on its opening day of January 10th, and currently stands at 103,485 admissions when early screenings are included. "Alienoid: Return to the Future" will likely break at least a million admissions at the South Korean box office over the weekend at this current pace. "Alienoid: Return to the Future" registered 64,903 admissions on the 11th.

Early reception to "Alienoid: Return to the Future" has been quite positive, with the film' predecessor "Alienoid" having gained a stronger appreciation in secondary markets than in its lackluster theatrical run in the summer of 2022, where it earned only 1.5 million admissions overall. This same day at the South Korean box office saw "12.12: The Day" earn 24,096 admissions for an overall total of 12,624,455. "Noryang: Deadly Sea" earned 21,181 admissions for an overall total of 4,246,090 admissions.
