[Aisha's Take] "Twinkling Watermelon" Ryeoun and Choi Hyun-wook Are Set on a Journey of Love, Friendship, Music and So Much More

"Twinkling Watermelon", starring Choi Hyun-wook, Ryeoun, Seol In-ah and Shin Eun-soo, started airing on 25th September. The drama's trailer had already created a hype with a stunning cast and interesting plotline. The storyline is beautifully sketched with love. From the very beginning, it touches one's heart. It tells the story of love. Love for family, love for one's passion and love for the special one.

"Twinkling Watermelon"tells the story of Eun-gyeol (Ryeoun), a child born to deaf parents but can hear sounds. He is the only one blessed with the ability, and so, he becomes a bridge between the silent world of his family and the soundful world. Eun-gyeol became passionate about music at a young age but little did he know the magic it held. He, unknowingly, travels back in time to 1995 a where he meets his parents again...but as teenager!

Eun-gyeol showcased love for family and passion (music in his case). He is the star child every parent desires. He gets good grades and is obedient. Being the only one who could hear and speak, he began to carry conversation between his family and others- at times even blocking harsh words from his parents. The burden of being perfect makes him compromise on his passion for music. As he prepared to be a doctor, he would secretively perform on the street. But his talent had already made him famous.

With too much burden on his shoulders, Eun-gyeol only found peace in music. He knew that his family depended on him but he only found himself with music. But that didn't mean that he loved one thing more than the other. Both held great importance to him, but he had to choose one thing.

One night, his father finds himself performing at a club and the two get into a fight. He runs far away, contemplating what choice to make. Finally coming to a decision, he was about to break his guitar but something unusual began to happen. He enters a shop filled with instruments but once he exits it. He was in 1995!

Here he meets his teenage father, I-chan (Choi Hyun-wook). I-chan is the perfect lover who devotes his life to impressing his crush, Choi  Se-kyeong (Seol In-ah). He is outspoken and carefree, which was very different to his older version. I-chan became a member of a boyband so he could have Se-kyeong's attention.

We already expect the two to grow closer and perhaps, Ryeoun might get to understand his family better.With a lot more in store. We cannot wait to see the new episodes airing this Monday!
